In Tribute to and Remembrance of Don Harkins

I was very sad to hear about this loss - to all of us - of a major truth-sayer, one of the true heroes of our times.

Remembering the smile

Through the years that I've known Don Harkins, every time that I would think of him (usually to call and ask his advice) I would get a smile in my mind just picturing his face. What joy, enthusiasm and passion it always expressed. Talk about the window into a bright and extraordinary soul!  He shined with so much light that it permanently warms all who were fortunate enough to have experienced the glow. What a gift to leave for us. May Ingri take comfort in knowing that her special place in Don's heart contributed to that glow, and we are grateful for her love.

Sovereign Solutions: Don Harkins, Editor of Idaho Observer

Your browser is not able to display this multimedia content.

Sovereign Solutions producer Rich Angell visits the office of the Idaho Observer (www.idaho-observer.com) in Spirit Lake, Idaho, to interview the editor, Don Harkins. Mr. Harkins tells what led him to start his own newspaper upon learning that (gasp!) we're not getting the truth from the media. The Idaho Observer is a monthly publication for all concerned about liberty, justice, etc., not just for Idaho citizens. Note: If you have a dial-up connection, you might prefer the dial-up version, 100kbps.

Don' s essay Slavery and the Eight Veils

It is an honor to have known Don. His writing, editing, and presence and conversations with him have been a significant influence on my own thinking.
Here is a brilliant essay by Don which gives a profound overview of the larger conundrums of life that we are all puzzling our way through.

Thank you Don

Wish I could be with you all today to celebrate the life of Don Harkins. So unexpected and out of the Blue.
Perhaps God is rewarding him since he did so much good in one lifetime.

Those of us who have been lucky enough to have known him and experience his work know that he was an American Giant and a
good friend. What comes to my mind when I think of Don is integrity and joy.

Our Friend and Fellow Soldier

Don Harkins and his wife, Ingri, were and are our friends, and fellow soldiers in the wars of government injustices.  I remember Don telling me (more than once) that he believed it was too late for our Idaho Judicial Accountability Initiative (IJAA was to hold judges accountable when they broke the law from the bench and caused harm), yet he actively promoted it from 2000 through 2006 in the IO.  In one campaign  Don, Ingri, myself and friends Vicki and Scott did a 'tour across Idaho' to get the word out about IJAA.&n

I Am Inspired By The LIfe Of Don Harkins

Don Harkins was an inspiration for me to start The Sovereign Newspaper here in the New York City area. I only knew him for a short time, but he gave me so much encouragement, referrals and wisdom- that he will *NEVER* be forgotten! Don knew the importance of keeping a traditional Opposition Press Newspaper in operation in our digital/internet age. He will be sadly missed by many. To all the readers and friends of the Idaho Observer, I'd like to end this post with a quote from Charles Dickens and another from Thomas Jefferson. I think Don would like them both.

In Remembrance of Don Harkins

I knew Don Harkins all too briefly since moving to this area approximately two years ago. He possessed a great depth of knowledge and an uncanny sense of how all the pieces of the proverbial puzzle fit together. His unique perspective on things will be extremely hard to replace as we continue down this road that he helped to pave.
